What’s the difference between emo and scene? (Cady)

Heh, Here we go.

Emo:

A lot of people will say emo was a fad that died before scene started, other will say it’s not a type of fashion and that it is exclusively music (Emo stands for emotive hardcore) I think both of these are incorrect. Emo has been around for over 20 years, Even if it wasn’t developed fully as a fashion back then. Looking at musicians who brought this fashion into the mainstream The Cure and The Horrors definitely stand out, Even though their music wasn’t emo at all. Emotive hardcore/Screamo is definitely a part of the emo culture, And is not to be confused with post hardcore.

Scene:

In my opinion, Scene got it’s roots from the shock rock/glam rock scene of the 80’s/90’s. Think of bands like Kiss, Twisted Sister and Motley Crue. But really it has moved away from those roots and is more blending with the raver scene (at least in Perth), In my opinion scene will be dead this time next year and ravers will have taken over, everywhere. I think scene is more based on being iconic and recognised that being related to a musical culture (Brokencyde are NOT music).

I can’t compare the two, It’d just end up being more biased rambling on my part if i did.
